MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION/SKILL
SAMTRAC Qualification or equivalent Occupational Health and Safety Act Training Certificate Firefighting and emergency procedures training Min 3 Years related experience in ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act in a forestry related industry First aid/medical response training Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point Strong administrative skills Valid driver’s licencePERSON REQUIREMENTS
Well-organised and meticulous, with the ability to work under pressure Able to liaise comfortably within all levels of the company Able to meet deadlines Good verbal and written communication in business English Ability to communicate in Xhosa would be advantageous Good report-writing skills Sound problem-solving skills Thorough knowledge of health and safety systems and legal requirements, with proven implementation abilityJOB DESCRIPTION
Provide support and guidance to Managers on Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) matters within the Group Investigate incidents using root cause analysis tools and compile incident reports Implement, monitor and enforce compliance to OHS legislation Conducting OHS audits Review and update safety management systems and related training programmes Monitor and report on all incidents and accidents Provide first responder assistance to medical emergencies (during and after hours) Compile and present Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly reports Participate in workplace committees and forums Assist and participate in fire-fighting operations Manage emergency preparedness of sites OD (Injury on Duty) mitigation and management Contractor management Site environmental management and compliance Maintain risk registers.
