ROLE
To provide technical support, troubleshoot, and resolve desktop system and hardware issues to ensure smooth operations in a managed services environment.
As a Desktop Support Engineer, you'll be on the front lines of technical support, helping keep systems running smoothly while sharpening your skills in diagnosing issues, installing software, and configuring desktops.
KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS
Be the friendly first point of contact for user phone calls, acting as a liaison between clients and the Technical Team and translating technical information into easy-to-understand terms.
Provide 1st/2nd line onsite or remote technical support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues for Windows/Mac systems.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for end-users via phone, email, or in-person.
Assist users with software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of desktop applications.
Imaging laptops, managing Microsoft 365, Active Directory, printers, and peripherals, as well as resolving tickets within SLA guidelines.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and security groups in Active Directory and Azure AD.
They monitor daily backup jobs, troubleshoot failures, perform data restores, and manage capacity for on-premise and cloud storage to prevent data loss.
Collaborate closely with IT professionals to ensure timely ticket completion within SLAs and partner with suppliers and vendors to resolve client issues.
Frequent and appropriate communication with users’ resolution of the progress of incidents and requests.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in desktop support or similar.
Professional certification in any of any related technologies
Experience with troubleshooting hardware (laptops, desktops, printers, etc.)
Proficiency in Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS), and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with Active Directory, user management, and system configurations. Only applicants without criminal record will be considered.
