Key Responsibilities Credit Risk Management
Identify alternative data sources to improve scoring accuracy Implement debi checks and other mechanisms to enhance collections Optimise customer onboarding and manage system integrations Develop and enforce company credit policies Debt Collection & Payment ManagementOversee a call centre with high automation (bots, WhatsApp, email, SMS) Contact customers to collect outstanding payments Negotiate repayment arrangements, settlements, and plans Escalate high-risk or complex accounts Customer Account Management
Monitor accounts daily for overdue payments Reconcile accounts and resolve billing discrepancies Review credit limits and recommend adjustments Compliance & Regulatory Requirements
Ensure all collections activities comply with regulations and internal policies Handle customer information confidentially and ethically Follow legal procedures for external collections or legal action Reporting & Administration
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly collections reports Analyse data and maintain dashboards and management reports Customer Service
Offer solutions to resolve payment challenges while protecting company interests Collaborate with internal teams (sales, finance, customer service) and external partners
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Bad debts written off remain below 1215% Customers who never pay remain below 10% Fraudulent accounts remain below 5%Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Finance, Business Management, or relevant qualification, or equivalent experience 810 years experience in credit control and debt collection Proven experience optimising loan management systems and automating processes Strong understanding of relevant regulations Experience in retail credit, consumer lending, micro-lending, or FMCG collections
