Description:
Job Purpose:To take full responsibility for the financial well-being, operational oversight, and administrative management of the group. The Financial Manager will lead the finance function, support strategic decision-making, and ensure compliance, profitability, and efficient daily operations.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education (Essential):
- B.Com Degree or equivalent (minimum 3-year qualification)
Minimum Education (Advantageous):
- Professional designation (SAIPA, SAICA or similar)
Minimum Applicable Experience:
- 810 years experience in a similar Financial Management role
Required Nature of Experience:
- Full financial management function within a group structure
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements
- Budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and risk analysis
- Inter-company reconciliations and expense recharges
- Payroll management (Sage Professional Payroll)
- Property rental management and lease administration (advantageous)
- Short-term rental (STR) and hospitality administration (e.g. Airbnb, Booking platforms)
- Audit preparation and liaison with internal and external auditors
- Stakeholder engagement at Director and Shareholder level
- Operational and administrative management across departments
Skills and Knowledge (Essential):
- Strong financial acumen with operational mindset
- Experience with Pastel / Sage One or similar accounting platforms
- Draft financial statements (DraftWorx or similar)
- Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English & Afrikaans)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Professional business etiquette
- Stress tolerance and ability to work in a high-pressure environment
- Hands-on, proactive approach
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Financial Management & Reporting
- Full responsibility for the financial health of the group
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements
- Preparation of quarterly board packs
- Budget preparation and financial forecasting
- Cash flow management and risk analysis
- Monthly VAT returns and statutory submissions
- Monthly bank, general ledger and inter
- 810 years experience in a similar Financial Management role
