Description:
A well-established and reputable high volume manufacturing company based in Maitland, Cape Town is seeking to appoint a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join their Procurement team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated procurement professional with strong operational buying experience to contribute within a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate purchasing execution, supplier performance, and cost efficiency across multiple categories.
Minimum Requirements
Matric (Essential)
35 years procurement/buying experience within a manufacturing or operational environment
Solid understanding of the full purchasing lifecycle
Experience working on SAP ERP (non-negotiable)
Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas)
Strong knowledge of RFQ processes and vendor selection
Understanding of MOQ, lead times and inventory principles
Fluency in English and Afrikaans (preferred)
Must be Criminal Clear
SA Citizens only
Must reside in the Greater Cape Town area or be willing to relocate at your own cost
Advantageous
Relevant certification in Supply Chain or Purchasing
Exposure to supplier performance management
Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment
