Description:

1. Inventory Management

· Monitor and control stock levels to ensure sufficient inventory for operational needs.

· Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts and investigate discrepancies.

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records on relevant systems.

· Identify, record, and report damaged, expired, or obsolete stock.

· Manage stock adjustments, transfers, and reconciliations.

2. Warehouse Operations

· Oversee receiving, offloading, and dispatch of stock.

· Supervise picking teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to procedures.

· Ensure warehouse areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.

· Oversee labeling, tagging, boxing, and proper storage of all inventory.

· Support the Warehouse Manager in planning daily operations and prioritizing workflow.

· Perform any additional duties related to warehouse operations as required by management.

3. Coordination & Communication

· Liaise with warehouse staff, sales, and finance departments on stock availability, movements, and replenishment.

· Relay clear instructions and updates to warehouse and picking teams.

· Assist in resolving customer or internal stock-related issues promptly.

· Communicate effectively in both Afrikaans and English (verbal and written).

4. Reporting

· Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports for management.

· Track stock variances and provide recommendations for process improvement.

· Assist in audits and stock reconciliations when required.

Requirements:

  • Excel: 5 to 6 years
  • Leadership Skills: 5 to 6 years
  • Computer Skills (Windows): 5 to 6 years

· Education: Grade 12 (Matric) essential; a tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field advantageous.

· Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in inventory control or warehouse management, preferably in a logistics or distribution environment.

· Skills & Competencies:

o Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.

o Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

o Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Datatim or similar systems advantageous.

o Proficiency with the GRANITE WMS will be a big Plus

o Proficiency with Scanner function is a definite must

o Sound communication skills in Afrikaans and English.

o Ability to supervise and motivate warehouse staff effectively.

· Other Requirements:

o Own reliable transport.

o Willingness to work weekends, overtime, and public holidays when operationally required.

o Stable employment record with contactable references.

Working Conditions

· Based at the Provincial Logistics warehouse facility in Paarl.

· Standard working hours apply, with flexibility required during peak periods, stock counts, or emergencies.

Working hours:

The employee will operate within the following hours (45 Hours per week):

· Monday to Friday 07h00 – 17h00

· Weekends(Saturdays) on a Rotation bases
