Our client, a well-established and reputable business based in Bloemfontein, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Debone Manager to join their team. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong operational and team management skills, responsible for overseeing the deboning process, ensuring product quality, and maintaining efficient workflow within the production department.
Minimum requirements
Matric or equivalent; relevant tertiary qualification in Food Technology or Meat Processing is advantageous Minimum of 5 years’ experience in deboning, meat processing, or a related production environment Valid driver's license and own vehicle Fluent in Afrikaans and English Experience background at an abattoir, including hands-on knowledge of carcass handling and meat processing operations Proven experience in managing a team and overseeing daily production operations Strong knowledge of meat cutting techniques, quality standards, and food safety regulations Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and quality standards (HACCP, ISO, or local regulations) Ability to plan, monitor, and optimize production workflow efficiently Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets consistently Ability to monitor and maintain high product quality and yield optimizationSkills required
Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards Effective communication skills for liaising with staff, management, and other departments In-depth knowledge of meat processing, deboning techniques, and abattoir operations Hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example and participate in production tasks when requiredDuties and responsibilities
Oversee the daily deboning operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to production schedules Supervise, train, and motivate the deboning team to maintain high performance and productivity Ensure all meat processing activities comply with food safety, hygiene, and quality standards (HACCP, ISO, or relevant local regulations)
