Location: Middelburg, Mpumalanga

Contract Type: Permanent

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically strong Sales Manager with a proven track record in the automation, mining, and heavy-industry sectors . This role requires a data?driven sales professional with exceptional business acumen, strong strategic capability, and the ability to manage complex sales cycles from prospecting to closure and after?sales support.

The ideal candidate is a motivated self?starter who thrives in a fast?paced, non?structured environment and can confidently engage with senior stakeholders, including C-suite executives. This position plays a critical role in expanding the organisation’s footprint across South Africa and international markets.

Key Responsibilities

Leading

  • Develop and grow a strong pipeline of opportunities within existing and future customer bases
  • Cold call, prospect, and drive proactive sales campaigns
  • Expand the customer base within South Africa and internationally
  • Update sales forecasts and pipeline weekly
  • Achieve quarterly and annual sales quotas
  • Provide account updates, forecasts, and reporting to local and global leadership
  • Maintain a strong focus on exceeding KPIs, sales targets, and stretch goals

Creating

  • Build and implement best?practice sales processes from the ground up
  • Attend trade shows, expos, and industry events for lead generation
  • Develop and maintain senior?level customer relationships
  • Create compelling value propositions for executive stakeholders
  • Maintain competitive intelligence and domain knowledge, including machine learning trends
  • Drive new business opportunities within and outside South Africa
  • Develop innovative, tailored sales solutions for clients

  • Build strong internal relationships across departments
  • Maintain deep product knowledge and communicate value effectively at all levels

  • Degree in an engineering discipline

  1. Strongly data?driven with advanced analytical capability
  2. Formal tertiary qualification in a related field (technical preferred)
  3. Experience in mining, with understanding of surface and underground operations
  4. Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
  5. Proven field business development experience in the mining sector
  6. Familiarity with predictive & prescriptive maintenance and reliability risk assessment
  7. Experience with automation solutions in an engineering environment
  8. Ability to manage both new business development and long?term account planning
  9. Experience working with partners in complex sales cycles
  10. Fast learner, comfortable in non?structured environments
  11. Strong self?discipline and ability to deliver results with indirect supervision
  12. Proven ability to build and maintain C?level consultative relationships
  13. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable
