Our client is a leading player in the import, distribution and retail supply of premium European food products. With operations that move quickly and a finance function that underpins every decision, theyre looking for a hands-on Bookkeeper who can manage high-volume transactions, keep systems clean, and ensure the business runs smoothly behind the scenes.Key Responsibilities:
- Full bookkeeping function up to trial balance
- Processing high-volume AP & AR
- Supplier reconciliations and payment preparation
- Cashbook management and daily bank recon
- Assisting with month-end journals & schedules
- VAT submissions and SARS compliance
- Assisting the Accountant with ad-hoc finance tasks
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting internal auditsJob Experience & Skills Required:
- 35+ years bookkeeping experience in FMCG/distribution/retail (advantageous)
- Strong Excel and accounting system experience
- Strong reconciliations background
- Ability to work under pressure with tight turnaround times
- High attention to detail & accountability
