Job Purpose
The school is seeking a dedicated and experienced Afrikaans First Language Teacher to teach Grades 1012. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, preparing learners for internal assessments and NSC examinations, and ensuring academic excellence in line with CAPS requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Afrikaans First Language to Grades 10, 11 and 12
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in line with the CAPS curriculum
Set, mark and moderate tests, assignments and examinations
Mark internal assessments and examination scripts accurately and timeously
Prepare learners for NSC examinations and monitor academic progress
Maintain accurate learner records, reports and assessment schedules
Attend staff meetings, subject meetings and parent-teacher engagements
Contribute positively to the academic culture and ethos of the school
Minimum Requirements
Recognised teaching qualification (BEd or PGCE)
Afrikaans First Language proficiency (spoken and written)
Minimum of 5 years teaching experience at high school level
Proven experience teaching Grades 10 to 12
Sound knowledge of CAPS curriculum and assessment requirements
Experience with marking exams and formal assessments
