Our client, a well-established player in the construction sector, is looking for a dynamic, hands-on Financial Controller to join their executive team. Youll be the strategic right-hand to the CFO and lead a robust finance department through sound financial governance and commercial insight.ð??§ Key Responsibilities:
ð??¹ Treasury & Forex Management
Manage daily cash balances and optimize liquidity to support project execution Oversee foreign exchange transactions and hedge currency risks where necessary Ensure cost-effective financing and banking relationships ð??¹ Cashflow Management
Maintain detailed short and long-term cash flow forecasts Identify potential shortfalls and proactively manage funding solutions Partner with operations to align cash planning with project rollouts ð??¹ Financial Controlling & Reporting
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts Drive analysis of project profitability, cost control, and operational efficiency Oversee balance sheet integrity and ensure reconciliations are completed timeously ð??¹ Accounts Payable & Receivable
Manage full creditors and debtors cycles with tight controls and payment discipline Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors Implement credit controls and reduce debtor days across the portfolio ð??¹ Asset Management
Maintain fixed asset register and ensure proper capitalisation and depreciation Monitor usage and movement of assets across sites ð??¹ Audit & Compliance
Lead the preparation for annual external audits and liaise with auditors Ensure full statutory compliance (IFRS, Tax, VAT, SARS submissions) Improve internal controls and governance frameworks ð??¹ Team Leadership
Manage and mentor a capable finance team Create a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence � Requirements:
CA(SA) Minimum 58 years of post-articles experience in a construction, engineering, or infrastructure environment Solid experience across treasury, forex, and project-based financial management Strong leadership skills and the ability to drive performance across multiple functions Proficient in financial systems and construction ERP platforms (e.g. BuildSmart, CCS, or similar)
