As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a highly skilled Operations Assistant / Manager to support and lead our field operations.
Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented professional with extensive experience in plumbing and drainage to manage and support operational activities. This role offers a dynamic balance of technical fieldwork, customer engagement, and operational oversight, requiring both industry expertise and administrative competence.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate field teams and ensure all projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard.
• Manage and supervise teams of drainage engineers, ensuring service excellence and adherence to company protocols.
• Oversee CCTV pipeline inspections (both push rod and crawler units) and compile accurate, professional reports.
• Conduct site inspections, evaluate work requirements, and prepare detailed, cost-effective job quotations.
• Communicate with clients in a courteous and professional manner, delivering excellent service and handling queries with confidence.
• Use computer systems to send emails, manage daily schedules, and compile operational reports using Excel.
• Monitor the condition and usage of tools and equipment, ensuring they are properly maintained and handled by staff.
• Support the Operations Manager with daily planning, logistics, and resource allocation as needed.
Minimum Requirements
• Minimum of 15 years’ hands-on plumbing experience, with a strong drainage background.
• Proficiency in CCTV drain inspection techniques and report generation.
• Experience operating high-pressure jetting equipment.
• Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, email, and scheduling tools.
• Demonstrated experience conducting site inspections and preparing professional quotations.
• Excellent telephone and client-facing communication skills.
• Strong organisational and leadership capabilities.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Plumbing trade qualification or certification is preferred.
Preferred Attributes
• Previous supervisory or managerial experience in the plumbing or drainage industry.
• Familiarity with related services such as drain and sewer cleaning, pipeline rehabilitation, and high-pressure jetting.
• Reliable, self-driven, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
