RPO’s client is seeking a qualified Millwright to join a leading steel and metals manufacturing company based in Germiston, Gauteng.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established industrial operation known for its technical innovation, robust engineering environment, and commitment to safety and production excellence. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on tradesman with strong fault-finding, maintenance, and breakdown response capabilities.
Duties & Responsibilities

Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on heavy machinery and production lines
-
Conduct fault finding and root cause analysis on equipment failures
-
Complete breakdown response and repair work promptly to reduce downtime
-
Execute scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance tasks
-
Maintain equipment logs and service records in line with maintenance plans
-
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
-
Report hazards, near-misses, and actively participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings
-
Support the production team with equipment readiness and troubleshooting
-
Liaise with external service providers and suppliers when necessary
Minimum Requirements
-
Trade Test Certificate as a Millwright
-
Relevant technical or electrical/mechanical qualification
-
Minimum 3–5 years of post-trade experience in a steel or metals manufacturing environment
-
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
-
Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and heavy industrial machinery
-
Willingness to work shifts, overtime, or respond to call-outs as needed
