Role Overview
My client is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to drive growth within the Mpumalanga mining region. You will own territory strategy, nurture key accounts, and forge new client relationships in a challenging, high-value environment. This is a hands-on leadership role: youll craft the big-picture roadmap while personally engaging with C-suite and site-level decision-makers to close deals.

Territory Strategy & Planning

Design and implement a sales plan tailored to Mpumalangas mining landscape, balancing growth of rental volumes and long-term hire contracts.
Analyze local market trends, competitor offerings, and pricing dynamics to sharpen competitive edge.
Account Management & Growth
Act as the primary liaison for existing mining clientsbuild deep relationships, anticipate equipment needs, and secure contract renewals.
Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities across the full equipment range (e.g., boom lifts, scissor lifts, telehandlers).
New Business Development
Prospect and qualify new mining accounts: conduct site surveys, prepare tailored proposals, and negotiate multi-year agreements.
Leverage industry networks, site visits, and trade events to open new territories and drive market share.
Leadership & Collaboration
Mentor and guide junior sales representatives or field agents, setting clear targets and providing coaching on best practices.
Work closely with operations, logistics, and safety teams to ensure seamless delivery and on-site support.
Reporting & Forecasting
Deliver accurate sales forecasts, pipeline dashboards, and performance analyses to the Regional Operations Director.
Monitor KPIsequipment utilization rates, contract renewal percentages, average rental valueand adjust tactics accordingly.
Who You Are
Seasoned Sales Leader: Minimum 5 years experience in a managerial sales role within the mining or heavy-equipment sector.
Mining Industry Expertise: Strong understanding of Mpumalangas mining clients, procurement cycles, equipment-rental standards, and safety regulations.
Territory Builder: Demonstrated success in opening new markets and consistently surpassing sales targets.
Excellent Communicator & Negotiator: Confident presenting to executive teams, drafting proposals, and closing high-value, multi-year contracts.
Strategic & Hands-On: Able to devise long-term plans while remaining deeply involved in day-to
