Description:
JOB PURPOSE:The IT Audit Developer will support the IT Audit and Risk Advisory team by designing, developing, and maintaining data analytics tools, automation scripts, and audit-enabling technologies. The role bridges IT Audit and technical development, enhancing audit efficiency, strengthening data-driven assurance, and enabling continuous auditing capabilities.
This role plays a key part in modernising audit methodologies through automation, analytics, and system interrogation.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Audit Data Analytics & Automation
- Develop and maintain audit analytics scripts and dashboards to support IT and financial audits.
- Automate repetitive audit procedures using scripting and data extraction tools.
- Design continuous auditing and monitoring solutions.
- Assist in analysing large datasets to identify anomalies, trends, and risk indicators.
- Systems & Controls Testing Support
- Support IT General Controls (ITGC) testing through automated testing solutions.
- Develop scripts to test user access controls, segregation of duties, and system configurations.
- Assist with ERP data extraction (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Tool Development & Optimisation
- Build internal tools to enhance audit workflows and reporting.
- Maintain audit analytics libraries and reusable scripts.
- Integrate data from various client systems for audit purposes.
- Optimise performance of audit-related data queries and models.
- Reporting & Visualisation
- Develop dashboards and visualisations to present audit findings clearly.
- Translate technical outputs into business-friendly insights for audit teams and clients.
- Risk & Compliance Alignment
- Ensure developed tools align with regulatory and assurance standards.
- Maintain documentation of scripts, methodologies, and system logic for audit trail purposes.
- Support compliance with frameworks such as COBIT, ISO 27001, and relevant governance standards.
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with IT Auditors, Data Analysts, and Risk Advisory teams.
- Contribute to innovation initiatives within the audit practice.
- Stay current with emerging audit technologies and data analytics trends.
REQUIREMENTS:
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.
- Postgraduate qualification (advantageous).
- Relevant certifications such as CISA, CRISC, or data analytics certifications (advantageous).
EXPERIENCE:
- 2–5 years’ experience in software development, data analytics, or IT audit support.
- Exposure to audit, risk, or compliance environments preferred.
- Experience working with ERP systems and large datasets is advantageous
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in:
- Python
- SQL
- Power BI / Tableau
- Excel (advanced)
- Experience with:
- Data extraction tools
- ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- API integrations
