The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in quality control in the wine production industry, preferably with previous laboratory exposure. Applicants should hold a Grade 12 qualification or equivalent, along with a Quality Assurance Certificate or Diploma. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, accurate record-keeping, and the ability to work independently are essential. REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
- Quality Assurance Certificate or Diploma.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Quality Controller in the wine production industry.
- Previous laboratory experience will be advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Accurate record-keeping ability.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Logical thinker.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Candidates should reside in Mfuleni, Eerste Rivier, Blue Downs, Stellenbosch, Belhar, or Paarl, as staff transport operates within these areas.
DUTIES:
Maintenance and Calibration of Equipment:
- Ensure all instruments are validated before use.
- Perform routine equipment calibration within the validity period, as per ISO calibration schedule.
Maintenance of QC Records/Results:
- Ensure accurate and reliable reporting of QC results.
- Maintain completeness and accuracy of QC packs.
- Keep QC records up to date.
Quality Control Tests:
- Perform analyses including chemical and microbiological testing with Bio Trace online.
- Monitor and perform hourly volume control checks on the production line.
- Conduct packaging analysis on dry goods materials.
Product Non-Conformance Monitoring:
- Ensure quality specifications are adhered to.
- Inform all relevant parties immediately when product defects occur.
- Investigate complaints and internal non-conformances and report findings.
Quality Management Systems:
- Ensure all activities comply with company requirements for quality control procedures.
- Participate in reviewing quality control procedures and processes.
- Sign QC packs as records for the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Participate in all requested quality assessments undertaken by the company.
- Assist and ensure availability during audits.
Health and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with company and statutory health and safety policies and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining the Hygiene Management Procedure.
- Act as a representative in enforcing GMPs and HACCP standards on the production line.
- Participate in HACCP team meetings.
- Ensure housekeeping is maintained to required standards.
- Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 17:00
