Description:
We are seeking a Bridge Engineer to join a leading engineering consulting firm in Gauteng or Cape Town . This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated civil engineer to contribute to the design, analysis, and delivery of bridge and infrastructure projects across South Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, analysis, and detailing of bridge structures (concrete, steel, and composite)
- Preparation of engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications
- Participate in feasibility studies, site investigations, and design reviews
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project delivery
- Ensure compliance with South African design codes (SANS) and industry standards
- Support construction supervision and technical guidance on site as required
Requirements:
- BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering
- 3+ years’ experience in bridge or structural engineering
- Strong knowledge of structural analysis software
- Understanding of loadings, materials, and design codes applicable to bridges
- Excellent problem-solving, technical, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a project team
