Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Professional Registered Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy current electrical engineering, HV substation (132/88 kV etc), HV Overhead Lines Design (132/ 88 kV etc, MV and LV reticulation design
• Working knowledge of Retic Master, Power Office, Microstation, Digisilent
• Own vehicle and ability to travel to project sites in Johannesburg

Core Responsibilities:

• Design and development of heavy current electrical systems for a range of projects, including infrastructure and power generation.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site surveys, and technical assessments to determine project requirements.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation in accordance with industry standards and client specifications.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure project execution.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and engineering standards.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders for project updates
• Review and approve electrical designs and calculations
