This role is based within the Timbavati and is ideally suited to a professional couple who thrive in a small, hands-on environment and are committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences while maintaining high operational standards. The role combines advanced field guiding and trails leadership with the management of housekeeping operations within a luxury bush setting.Role 1: Trails Guide
Candidate Responisbilities:
- Lead interpretive game drives and guided bush walks in a Big 5 environment
- Conduct advanced walking safaris in accordance with safety protocols and reserve regulations
- Ensure strict adherence to firearm handling, safety standards, and reserve procedures
- Mentor and support junior guides where applicable
- Manage guiding equipment including vehicles, rifles, radios, and trails gear
- Deliver engaging, educational, and guest-focused safari experiences
- Participate in conservation initiatives and reserve meetings where requiredCore Criteria:
- FGASA Field Guide qualification (NQF2 minimum; Level 2 preferred)
- FGASA Trails Guide qualification (Full Lead Trails)
- Valid PDP, First Aid certification, and rifle competency
- Proven experience guiding in a Big 5 reserve
- Strong leadership presence and guest engagement skills
- High level of professionalism and safety awarenessRole 2: Housekeeping Manager
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Oversee all housekeeping operations to ensure luxury-level presentation
- Conduct daily room checks and maintain service standards
- Manage housekeeping staff, including rosters, training, and performance oversight
- Control stock, linen, amenities, and cleaning supplies
- Coordinate laundry operations and ensure efficient turnaround
- Assist with guest requests and ensure attention to detail in all areas
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of public areasCore Criteria:
- Previous experience in housekeeping management within a lodge or 45 star hospitality environment
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
- Ability to manage and motivate a team in a remote setting
- Guest-centric approach with excellent communication skillsThis is a live-in position.
