Description:

AVI Field Marketing is a shared services business unit within AVI. Field Marketing focuses on sales and merchandising for the beverages, snacking, and cosmetic business units to provide greater focus and to achieve an improved execution at the store level.

An opportunity has become available for an experienced Catering Wholesale - Sales Consultant to manage and service customers in the Inland region. This is your opportunity to work with quality brands that enrich our client's lives.

Line Manager : Wholesale Sales Manager

Job Specification:

Key Performance Areas:

  • Achievement of monthly budgeted targets by value, volume and margin
  • Achievement of agreed growth target by product category by brands
  • Maintain and develop existing business within a region
  • Maintain and develop multi – level relationships with existing customers
  • Develop a daily/weekly call list and maintain information accuracy monthly
  • Communicate trends/pricing issues and other unique issues as it relates to sales
  • Brand activation and demonstration across customer channels
  • Handle clients in a professional manner
  • Deal with customer issues
  • Identify customer growth opportunities
  • Monthly sales report (Trends, Competitor activity, Competitor pricing)
  • Implement and improve promotions & NPD projects
  • Quarterly presentations at NDI meetings
  • Overview of area performance, competitor activity, service levels, projects and promotions
  • Travel across the Inland region
  • Schedule appointments, calls and meetings

Qualifications:

  • Completed Grade 12 (Matric) is essential
  • A completed tertiary qualification (Business/Sales/Marketing/Retail) is advantageous

Experience Required:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a sales consultant role with a proven track record
  • Food Service Trade knowledge an advantage
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Knowledge of the Sales process
  • Customer relationship management
  • Admin procedures and systems
  • Knowledge of calculating markup, margin, VAT etc.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel)
  • Valid Driver’s License required
