Job Summary
This role involves providing technical support for hardware, software, networks, and related systems. The IT Technician will be responsible for resolving technical issues, performing installations and maintenance, supporting users on-site and remotely, and ensuring the security and reliability of IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network operating system issues
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop hardware and software
- Troubleshoot and service printers and peripheral equipment
- Install and configure network infrastructure and related equipment
- Install and configure camera solutions
- Provide on-site, telephonic, and remote technical support to users
- Create and manage network user accounts and access credentials
- Maintain an accurate inventory of IT hardware, software, and technology resources
- Ensure systems are secured through antivirus installation and regular updates
- Research and recommend suitable IT solutions, hardware, and software purchases
- Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level support within agreed response times
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective support delivery
- Matric / Grade 12
- CompTIA A+ Certification
- CompTIA N+ Certification
- Minimum 2 years’ IT support experience
- Valid Code B Driver’s Licence
- Windows troubleshooting
- Printer troubleshooting and maintenance
- Network installations and basic configuration
- Hardware and software diagnostics
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Goal-driven with strong accountability
