We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Logistics / Dispatch Officer to join our dynamic team and play a vital role in managing and coordinating daily transportation operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate daily dispatch operations.
- Schedule, monitor, and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
- Liaise with drivers, suppliers, and customers to provide accurate shipping updates and resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and dispatch activities.
- Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Work closely with warehouse staff to ensure smooth loading/unloading of goods.
- Resolve discrepancies or challenges related to shipments promptly.
- Generate reports and analyze logistics data to improve processes.
- Supervise and manage the weekly loading of trucks for Cape Town, Durban, and Johannesburg routes.
Qualifications & Skills
- Matric (Grade 12) required; a qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field is advantageous.
- Proven experience in logistics, dispatch, or a similar role.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics/dispatch software.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
