A well-established multi-site agricultural operation in Northern KwaZulu-Natal, requires a hands-on Farm Foreman to oversee and manage daily livestock and farming operations. The business operates a dual agricultural model, comprising ±50% poultry & egg production and ±50% cattle farming, including stud cattle and maize crops.
This is a practical, leadership-driven role requiring strong livestock expertise, operational discipline, and the ability to manage staff, animals, and infrastructure in a rural environment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cattle & Stud Farming
Day-to-day management of cattle and stud cattle operations Cattle handling, branding, de-horning, injections, vaccinations, and parasite control Knowledge and practical application of stud classing (conformation, structure, body condition, short legs, frame, muscling, etc.) Monitoring animal health, biosecurity measures, and disease prevention protocols Record keeping relating to breeding, treatments, movements, and mortality Pasture management, grazing rotation, and feed planning Assisting with compliance relating to livestock regulations and inspections
Poultry Operations (Advantage)
Oversight and support of poultry and egg production activities Monitoring flock health, hygiene standards, and biosecurity Coordination with production teams to ensure output and quality standards
Crop & General Farm Operations
Exposure to maize planting and basic crop farming activities Maintenance oversight of farm infrastructure, fencing, water systems, and equipment Hands-on involvement in basic mechanical and electrical fault finding (formal qualification advantageous) Stock control of feed, vaccines, consumables, and farm inputs
