Seamstress for Curtain Maker

Description:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Curtain Maker / Seamstress to join our team in Cape Town. The successful candidate must be skilled in measuring, cutting, and sewing curtains and soft furnishings to a high professional standard.Key Responsibilities

• Measure windows and spaces accurately on-site (if required)

• Calculate fabric requirements

• Cut fabric according to measurements and specifications

• Sew curtains, sheers, linings, pelmets, and other soft furnishings

• Operate industrial sewing machines including:

  • Blind stitch machine

  • Overlocker

  • Bartacker

  • Straight stitch machine

  • Ensure high-quality finishing and attention to detail

  • Work efficiently to meet deadlines Minimum Requirements

    • Proven experience as a curtain maker / seamstress

    • Experience working with industrial sewing machines

    • Ability to read and interpret measurements and specifications

    • Strong attention to detail

    • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently

    • Good communication skills Advantageous

      • Experience with blinds and other window treatments

      • Knowledge of different curtain headings and styles Remuneration

        Salary will be market-related and based on experience.
