Description:
To provide integrated speech and language therapy services within a progressive private school environment, supporting early identification, intervention, and ongoing development of learners, while simultaneously operating an independent private practice from purpose-designed facilities on the school campus.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
Degree in Speech and Language Therapy Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) 5 years relevant clinical experience working with children Strong experience in early childhood and Foundation Phase language development Competence in assessment, diagnosis, intervention planning, and progress reporting Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to run an independent private practice on siteKey Performance Areas:
Provide speech and language therapy services to learners within the school environment Conduct assessments, screenings, and early identification of speech, language, and communication needs Deliver individual and small-group interventions aligned to learner needs and developmental milestones Collaborate closely with teachers, learning support staff, and families to embed support into daily learning Contribute to preventative, inclusive support models rather than isolated pull-out therapy Support language development within Learning Hubs and enquiry-based learning environments Educate and guide parents and educators through practical strategies and feedback Establish and manage an independent therapy practice operating from the school campus Maintain accurate clinical records, reports, and professional documentationPractice Opportunity (On-Site)
