Qualification and experience required:
- BEng. or BSc. in Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
- Microsoft Office Suite, especially Visio for schematic creation and documentation.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and datasheets.
- Read and interpret 3D CAD drawings that Mechanical Design engineers use (such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or CATIA).
- Understanding of engineering principles, including systems engineering
- Project Management skills
- Industrialisation of new products and product modifications.
- Active participation in the product design phase to influence manufacturability, assembly ability, and cost.
- Optimally convert the Product Baseline (PBL) into the Manufacturing Baseline (MBL)
- Use the Pre-Production phase to evaluate and update the Manufacturing Baseline (MBL)
- Ensuring all aspects of Impact Engineering Change Proposals are processed according to: Cost, Phase-out, Implementation, Logistics support, and available stock.
- Technical support on assembly processes and component manufacturing processes.
- Initiation and execution of Failure Diagnostics and Corrective Actions.
- Compiling and submission of technical reports, progress reports, and various administrative functions in accordance with processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems teams to ensure smooth integration.
- Assist with design reviews and DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) sessions to ensure robust system design and manufacturability.
- Interface with clients to understand requirements, provide technical updates, and support validation activities.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant engineering standards, safety requirements, and quality.
