Description:
A leading flexible polymer and industrial rubber solutions manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Millwright, Engineering Supervisor with strong experience in heavy industrial maintenance, complex mechanical and electrical systems, and plant engineering supervision to join their team in Gauteng. This organisation specialises in the manufacturing of high-performance rubber and flexible polymer components supplied to demanding sectors such as mining, industrial processing, and infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring maximum plant uptime, driving preventative maintenance strategies, supervising engineering teams, and maintaining critical production equipment including furnaces, induction systems, and overhead cranes in a high-performance manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise the engineering and maintenance team responsible for all plant mechanical and electrical functions.

Oversee preventative and reactive maintenance on heavy industrial equipment to minimise downtime and optimise production efficiency.

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex electrical and mechanical faults on production machinery.

Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and inspection documentation.
-
Ensure compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety standards and drive a strong safety culture on site.

Manage maintenance schedules, spares, and departmental expenditure responsibly.
-
Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with lifting tackle and overhead crane regulations.

Support continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering and maintenance department.
Requirements:

Trade Tested Millwright (Red Seal).
-
Minimum of N5 Engineering Studies or equivalent qualification.
-
Minimum of 8 years’ post-trade experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.

Strong experience working on furnaces, induction heating/melting systems, foundry-type equipment, and overhead cranes.
-
Proven experience with PLC fault finding and electrical/mechanical troubleshooting.

Solid understanding of preventative maintenance systems and asset care.
-
Experience in a supervisory or team leadership capacity.
-
Valid Working at Heights, First Aid, and Overhead/Gantry Crane certifications advantageous.
