Our client, a wellâ??established organisation in the financial services sector, is seeking a Senior Information Security Engineer to strengthen and mature their security posture across hybrid infrastructure, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications.This role is ideal for a security professional with deep technical expertise who enjoys contributing to architecture, leading security initiatives, guiding junior engineers, and ensuring alignment to global frameworks and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of advanced security controls across cloud, onâ??prem, and SaaS environments Define security architecture standards and guide secure technology integrations Manage and optimise security tooling (Firewalls, WAF, SIEM, EDR, DLP, vulnerability platforms) Drive automation initiatives for threat detection, incident response, and operational efficiency Oversee SOC collaboration, monitoring, and incident escalation Lead investigations, forensics, and critical incident response Establish vulnerability management frameworks and ensure risk remediation Implement identity governance and zeroâ??trust models Develop and deliver security awareness programmes Support regulatory compliance (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, POPIA, GDPR) Produce executiveâ??level security dashboards, reports, and insightsJob Experience and Skills Required:
Diploma or Degree in IT / Computer Science / Cybersecurity Seniorâ??level certifications advantageous (CISSP, CISM, Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Expert, SCâ??series) 7+ years experience in cybersecurity / security engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior role Advanced knowledge of: SIEM, EDR, Firewalls, WAF, DLP, Vulnerability Management Azure / Microsoft 365 security and cloud controls Identity governance, PAM, Zero Trust PowerShell / Python (automation & scripting) Proven experience leading incident response and security architecture initiatives Experience with ITSM tools and documentation best practicesPersonal Attributes:
