Job Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Junior Data Scientist to assist in the research, development and implementation of algorithmic solutions, with a focus on call-center operations in a regulated financial market.
As a Junior Data Scientist, you'll perform data analysis, model development and implementation, assist with practical MLOps and LLMOps pipelines, and contribute to the high-level AI and automation roadmap.
You’ll work closely with stakeholders across various departments to translate business challenges into well-defined problems and deliver impactful algorithmic-based solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Science & Modelling:
- Perform meaningful and accurate data analysis on structured data using appropriate statistical theory
- Draft Product Requirement Specifications for model development
- Specify, design and implement data pipelines
- Work with structured data to develop predictive and prescriptive models
- Understand the importance and correct usage of evaluation metrics like accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, RMSE, etc.
- Implement monitoring and feedback loops for continuous improvement and delivery
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and challenges, ensuring alignment of data-driven strategies with organizational goals
- Use data insights to propose changes to strategies and processes to optimize contact center operations and achieve business goals
- Continuously collaborate with stakeholders to ensure strategy adjustments are effectively addressing business needs and achieving desired results
Continuous Professional Development:
- Be self-motivated to stay updated on emerging algorithms and trends in the industry
- Investigate and recommend the application of new algorithmic approaches to drive quick and meaningful innovation within the context of our AI roadmap
Preferred Qualifications:
Engineering Degree preferred (BSc. (Hons) Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, etc.)
Physics, Computer Science and/or Mathematics background is also desirable

Key skills :
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong mathematical proficiency
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Excellent understanding of core mathematical and statistical concepts
- Ability to read published technical reports and infer implications in context
- Ability to produce high quality technical reports (LaTeX beneficial but not necessary)
- Basic SQL proficiency and understanding of relational databases
- First principles understanding of NLP algorithms beneficial
- Understanding of applied MLOps and LLMOps beneficial
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
