About the Role We are seeking a friendly and reliable Optical Retail Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys customer service, has an eye for detail, and is available to work weekends, public holidays, and occasionally weekdays to cover permanent staff. Key Responsibilities • Customer Service: Welcome customers, assist with inquiries, and provide professional support in selecting frames, lenses, and accessories. • Sales Support: Process transactions accurately, promote current offers, and upsell optical products when appropriate. • Optical Assistance: Support qualified staff with basic dispensing tasks such as frame adjustments and fittings. • Store Presentation: Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the shop floor, displays, and stock. • Operational Support: Assist with opening/closing duties and provide flexible cover when permanent staff are unavailable. Requirements • Previous retail or customer service experience (optical experience an advantage but not essential). • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work weekends, public holidays if required. • Professional presentation and a customer-focused attitude. • Willingness to learn and support the optical team.
