Our client, a reputable and established business based in Bloemfontein, is seeking a hardworking and dependable Maintenance Worker to join their team. This role is suited to a hands-on individual with strong problem-solving skills who can ensure that facilities, equipment, and general infrastructure are maintained to a high standard, supporting smooth daily operations.
Minimum requirements
Grade 10 or Matric certificate Proven minimum experience of 2 years in general maintenance, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical work Fluent in English and Afrikaans Ability to operate and maintain basic tools and equipment safely Good understanding of health and safety regulations in the workplace Physically fit and able to perform manual labour Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to maintenance emergencies when required Valid driver’s license will be advantageousSkills required
Proficient in general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repairs Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve maintenance issues efficiently Familiarity with the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Basic understanding of health and safety standards and procedures Good organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities Physical stamina and dexterity for manual work and lifting heavy equipment Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Effective communication skills for reporting issues and coordinating with supervisors or other departmentsDuties and responsibilities
