The Waiter/Waitress at Pepperclub Hotel is professional, attentive, and friendly, with a solid knowledge of food, wine, and service standards. This role requires constant interaction with guests to ensure they have a memorable, personalised dining experience across our restaurants, bar, and events. The Waiter/Waitress represents Pepperclub’s purpose of creating memorable guest experiences and embodies our RAISE values – Responsibility, Accountability, Integrity, Service, and Excellence.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Deliver superior, friendly, and personalised guest service at all times.
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of food, beverages, and menu offerings.
Greet guests, take accurate orders, and communicate details clearly to the kitchen and bar.
Assess guest preferences and make informed recommendations.
Confidently up-sell and suggest additional menu items to enhance guest experience.
Provide guidance to guests on hotel dining options, activities, and Cape Town attractions.
Prepare and maintain clean, well-set tables and service areas.
Ensure checks, payments, and billing are handled accurately.
Assist with stock control, requisitions, and inventory management as needed.
Maintain compliance with health, hygiene, and safety standards.
Participate in daily briefings to stay updated on menu changes, specials, and reservations.
Actively contribute to teamwork, a positive service culture, and smooth departmental operations.
Requirements, Qualifications & Expectations
Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal); additional languages advantageous.
