OPERATOR GR4: FORKLIFT (Grading B1)
Job specification
- Grade 10,11,12 or equivalent qualification
- Certificated/ licensed to operate a forklift
- English proficiency and any additional language from 11 official languages
- Experience in trackless mining will be advantageous
- 1-3 years’ experience operating a forklift in a mining environment or industrial environment
- Must have Dover test results or will be submitted for Dover Declared
- Must be a legal South African citizen
- Clear Criminal Record
- Declared Medically fit for the position at our OHP
Responsibilities
- Work a circle of shifts
- Responsible for operating the forklift
- Assist with and monitor preventative and breakdown maintenance during shift (fill up fuel, oil, lubrication, etc.)
- Be observant/ vigilant during loading, offloading, stacking and safe storage of goods and any other related duties
- Report any damages on goods offloaded or loaded to relevant stakeholders
- Ensure that the machine is in good operating order and report any faults and inconsistencies to supervisor (s) and controller (s)
- Always take instructions from the supervisor responsible for the area/ work place
- Adhere and comply with health and safety standards and regulations
- Adhere to MHSA standards & Gold1 Group’s safety motto : “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely”
