Description:
Drive and manage tax refund claims
Handle and respond to tax audits and related queries
Prepare, plan, and submit voluntary disclosure applications
Manage and oversee inâ??country tax consultants, with accountability for deliverables
Review consultant reports and assess identified tax risks
Support transfer pricing matters and documentation
Review taxâ??related agreements and contracts
Calculate current and deferred tax for accruals and provisional tax purposes
Ensure accuracy of taxâ??related accounts within the trial balance
Maintain group tax tracking schedules and open item listings
Prepare clear status and progress reports for management and shareholders
Provide ongoing tax status reporting
Support the broader finance team as required
Stay up to date with tax legislation and regulatory changes across relevant jurisdictions
Advise on the tax impact of proposed business or structural changes
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 3+ years postâ??articles experience in tax within a multinational group, or in accounting and tax practice
Completed articles, preferably within a tax-focused environment
Advanced MS Excel capability
Highly detailâ??oriented and selfâ??driven
Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively
Strong time management and organisational skills
Able to perform effectively under pressure and tight deadlines
Qualification:
BCom degree
Postgraduate qualification in Tax
Professional registration with SAIT, SAIPA, ACCA, SAIBA, AGA(SA), CA(SA), or equivalent
