Our client is seeking a qualified Patent Attorney or Senior IP Specialist with deep technical expertise to lead the company’s global IP portfolio and patent strategy. This is not a general commercial legal role - it is a specialist IP position requiring direct experience in patent prosecution, design registration, and integration with R&D and engineering teams.
Qualifications & Experience:
LLB or equivalent Minimum 8 years’ experience in Patent Law, Design Law, and IP strategy Proven experience managing an IP portfolio (identification ? registration ? maintenance ? enforcement) Experience guiding IP development within technology, engineering, or R&D projects Engineering qualification (Electronics/Electrical) is highly advantageous Trademark prosecution and brand protection experience Proven ability to think strategically and lead in a technical environmentKey Responsibilities:
Guide IP development in technical projects to ensure strategic alignment and robust protection throughout the lifecycle Manage the full IP portfolio lifecycle, including registration, maintenance, and enforcement Develop and execute offensive and defensive legal strategies to safeguard company interests Oversee the contracts portfolio, ensuring legal soundness and alignment with business goals Lead regulatory compliance efforts, monitoring the legal landscape and implementing proactive measures Draft, review, and approve high-value contracts and company policies Manage the legal function and drive departmental effectiveness
