Operations Manager

Description:

A leading manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and optimise all plant operations. The role ensures efficient, safe, and high-quality production, manages supply chain and inventory, and drives operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily manufacturing operations, meeting production, quality, and safety targets.

• Plan and schedule production, balancing workloads to optimise capacity.

• Oversee inventory, material availability, and supply chain coordination.

• Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

• Lead and develop operational teams, monitor performance, and support workforce planning.

• Analyse operational KPIs and implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

• Promote a strong safety culture and adherence to HSE policies.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across processes and workflows.

• Coordinate cross-departmental projects to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Requirements:

• Matric and Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, or Industrial Engineering; postgraduate preferred.

• Minimum 5 years’ operations management experience in manufacturing.

• Knowledge of ERP/MRP/MES systems, production planning, and inventory control.

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification advantageous.
