Description:
This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned cost accounting professional who thrives in a data-driven environment and has deep, hands-on experience with Activity-Based Costing (ABC) and Bills of Materials (BOMs). The successful candidate will play a key role in driving cost visibility, margin optimisation, and informed decision-making across the business.Key Responsibilities:
- Design, maintain, and improve ABC models to ensure accurate cost allocation across products, categories, and channels
- Perform detailed cost and margin analysis to support pricing strategies and profitability reporting
- Develop, review, and maintain accurate BOMs for retail products
- Ensure that product costing reflects raw materials, labour, overheads, and logistics costs
- Prepare and monitor cost budgets and forecasts
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to support new product launches, promotions, and range reviews
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- BCom degree in Accounting, Finance, or Cost & Management Accounting
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a Cost Accountant or similar role
- Proven, hands-on experience with ABC
- Strong exposure to BOMs and product costing
- Experience within the retail, FMCG, or consumer-driven environment highly advantageous
