The Opportunity
As the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operations of a sophisticated manufacturing facility. Your primary mission is to optimize output while maintaining the stringent quality standards required for pharmaceutical primary packaging. You aren't just a manager; you are a technical expert who can troubleshoot tooling issues, implement continuous improvement solutions, and lead a diverse team toward operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence: Manage daily facility operations to ensure machines and equipment are correctly set to optimize output and minimize scrap or rejects.

Technical Oversight: Monitor and address tooling issues and machinery maintenance while ensuring corrective and preventative measures are in place through continuous improvement.

Strategic Management: Take full accountability for the division’s profitability, including costings, pricing, and overall business efficiency.

Compliance & Quality: Oversee QMS and ISO standards within your division, ensuring total adherence to health and safety regulations.

Leadership & Admin: Manage HR/IR issues and ensure staff fully document all incidents through frequent inspections and rigorous adherence to company methodologies.
Requirements

Education: Matric with Mathematics and a relevant Degree or 3-year Plastics Diploma (or equivalent).

Technical Background: Qualified Toolmaker Highly advantageous

Industry Experience: 5 years of hands-on experience in Injection Moulding, Injection Blow Moulding, Blow Moulding, and PET manufacturing specifically for pharmaceutical primary packaging.

Leadership Experience: 5 years of Management experience in Plastics Manufacturing.

Essential Skills: Strong Technical, Business, and Communication skills; must be a proven leader with high computer literacy.

Advantageous: Completion of HR and Quality-related courses.
