Description:
We are seeking a motivated Junior Embedded Electronic Engineer to join our engineering team working on the development and support of electronic systems for underground mining machinery. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience in a safety-critical, heavy-equipment environment. The RoleYou will support the design, testing, and maintenance of embedded electronic and control systems used in underground mining equipment. Working closely with senior engineers, youll be involved across the full product lifecycle from concept and prototyping through to testing and field support.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the design and development of embedded electronic systems Support firmware development for microcontroller-based systems (C/C++) Assist with schematic review, PCB testing, and fault-finding Work with sensors, actuators, CAN bus, and other industrial communication protocols Support system testing, validation, and documentation Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of electronic systems on machinery Ensure designs comply with safety, quality, and mining industry standardsAbout You
Degree in Electronic Engineering, Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, or similar Basic experience with embedded C/C++ programming Understanding of microcontrollers and digital/analogue electronics Interest in heavy machinery, mining, or industrial equipment Willingness to work in a site-based or underground environment when required Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to learnDesirable (but Not Essential)
Experience with CAN, J1939, or similar protocols Exposure to PCB design tools (e.g. Altium, KiCad) Familiarity with functional safety or safety-critical systems Previous internship, placement, or project experience in embedded systems
