House Carer – Locum role with potential for permanent appointment
Group Home – Plumstead WC
We are seeking an experienced Housemother / Carer to support the daily care and wellbeing of adults
with intellectual disabilities in a small group home setting.
This role is ideal for a compassionate, organised, and responsible individual who has experience in care
environments and is comfortable managing both resident support and household operations.
Key Responsibilities
Resident Care & Support
1. Provide daily care, supervision, and emotional support to residents
2. Assist residents with daily activities when required while promoting independence
3. Monitor wellbeing and report concerns appropriately
4. Accompany residents to medical and other appointments
Family & Professional Liaison
1. Communicate respectfully with parents, guardians, and professionals
2. Coordinate with healthcare providers when needed
Household & Administration
1. Plan, prepare, and cook meals for 7 adult residents
2. Grocery shopping and stock control
3. Maintain a safe, organised home environment
4. Basic administration and record keeping
Required Qualifications
1. Previous experience in caregiving, disability care, or residential care
2. Valid driver’s licence ( Advantageous but not required )
3. Computer literate
4. Compassionate, patient, and emotionally mature
5. Flexible and reliable
