Main purpose of the job
Safety Compliance & Monitoring
Monitor work activities to ensure compliance with SHE procedures, permits, and pre-task risk assessments Conduct regular site inspections and identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions Ensure correct use of PPE by all employees and contractors Stop unsafe work and escalate serious hazards immediatelyPermit-to-Work Support
Verify validity and compliance of permits (Hot Work, Confined Space, Working at Heights, Electrical, Excavation, etc.) Ensure control measures stated in permits are implemented and maintained Monitor high-risk activities continuouslyCommunication & Safety Culture
Act as a visible safety presence on site Communicate SHE expectations clearly to workers and contractors Promote a positive safety culture and safe work practicesAuthority
Authority to stop work if an imminent danger to people, property, or the environment is identified Authority to report non-compliance to supervisors and SHE managementReporting & Documentation
Complete daily SHE inspection checklists Submit hazard, near-miss, and incident reports SHE Specialist Provide daily feedback to SHE Specialist and ManagerQualifications and Experience
Grade 12 plus SAMTRAC or equivalent certification Incident investigation L3 HIRA Certificate Knowledge of SHE legislation Understanding of high-risk activities and controls Minimum of two years relevant work experience, preferably in manufacturing industryPersonal Qualities
