We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechatronic Design Engineer to join our engineering team, specialising in the design and development of mining machinery and equipment. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating robust, reliable, and innovative solutions for demanding mining environments.Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimise mechatronic systems for mining machinery Integrate mechanical, electrical, electronic, and control systems into cohesive designs Produce detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation Perform simulations, calculations, and design validations Support prototyping, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of equipment Collaborate with manufacturing, maintenance, and project teams Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements Assist with continuous improvement of existing machinery and systemsMinimum Requirements
Bachelors degree in Mechatronic Engineering 3+ years experience in design engineering, preferably in mining or heavy machinery Strong understanding of mechanical design, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems Experience with CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) Knowledge of PLCs, sensors, actuators, and control systems Ability to work in harsh industrial or mining environments Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
