Key Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients for daily service, including chopping, slicing, portioning and assembling Assist with preparation of menu items according to recipes and quality standards Support both coffee shop offerings (light meals, pastries, breakfasts) Ensure all food preparation complies with food safety, hygiene and health regulations Maintain a clean, organized and sanitary kitchen environment Assist with stock rotation, storage and basic inventory checks Work efficiently during peak service hours while maintaining attention to detail Support chefs and kitchen staff with general prep and kitchen duties Minimise waste and handle ingredients responsibly.Minimum Requirements
Matric (Grade 12) Certificate or qualification in Food Preparation, Hospitality, Professional Cookery or similar Minimum of 2-4 years' experience in a coffee shop, restaurant or hospitality kitchen preferred Knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene practices Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure during busy periods Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.Ideal Candidate Traits
