Summary description of role
1.Materials Handling (basic)
- Inbound (receiving, unpacking, checking, binning)
- Adheres to warehouse plan (planography) regarding the binning of stock Understands briefing/instructions Understands hazards, understands planning in terms of procedure.
- Executes inbound materials handling activities
- Monitors damage and paperwork that is missing or does not match
- Reports problems and issues immediately
- Outbound (Picking, Dispatch)
- Understands briefing/instructions Understands hazards Understands planning in terms of procedure
- Executes outbound materials handling activities
- Monitors damage and paperwork that is missing or does not match
- Checks accuracy of work
- Reports stock items that are consistently misplaced
2.Stock Counts (perpetual, regular and ad hoc)
- Understands briefing/instructions Understands planning in terms of procedure
- Executing perpetual stock counts, other cyclical stock counts or ad hoc stock counts as required
- Performs accurate stock counts
- Reports on any stock discrepancies to supervisor
3.Basic Maintenance & Housekeeping
- Participates and understands risk assessment
- Under supervision cleans premises, tools, vehicles, etc.
- Sweeps work areas Maintains and cleans recreational area (e.g. tea/coffee station) – if applicable to operation Runs basic errands
- Checks stock levels of disposable items e.g. soap, etc. Initiates orders for replenishment of cleaning materials Keeps check lists of materials required
- Reports any maintenance issues to supervisor immediately

Qualification
- Grade 12 or NQF 3 equivalent
Experience
- Experience within a warehouse environment will be an advantage.
- A valid driver's licence will be an added advantage
Specific knowledge and skills requirement
- English proficiency: Reading, writing & understanding
- Maths Literacy
- Grade 12 or NQF 3 equivalent
