COORDINATOR: ELDERLY AND DISABILITY CARE

BADISA (Bellville Office, Cape Town)

The Management Programme of Badisa hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates with the necessary experience to coordinate elderly and disability care services.

We are looking for a passionate and proven leader in this field to join our senior team. The incumbent will be responsible for the following:

  • Facilitating and managing processes in cooperation with governing boards and managers of facilities for the elderly and persons with disabilities, as well as service centres.
  • Strategic and operational support to management structures of facilities for the elderly, persons with disabilities, and elderly service centres.
  • Liaising with relevant stakeholders, including local congregations, governing boards, the department of social services, the community and community organisations.
  • Promoting and coordinating research relating to elderly and disability care.
  • Developing procedures, policies, manuals and information material.
  • Monitoring compliance with statutory requirements and ensuring that quality services are delivered in line with strategic plans.
  • Developing integrated elderly and disability care services.
  • Transformation of the organisation’s service delivery in line with the approved strategy.

The successful candidate must have a relevant degree or equivalent qualification; at least five (5) years’ relevant experience in the field of service delivery to older persons and persons with disabilities; excellent facilitation skills; the ability to communicate at all levels; strategic thinking ability; the capacity to work within a team; as well as proven leadership qualities.

The incumbent will need strong computer skills with the ability to analyse data, generate reports, and support operational and strategic decision-making, as well as the ability and willingness to travel to support and engage with facilities on-site.
