Description:

The Mining & Construction Sales Representative will be responsible for developing new business and managing sales activities across Southern Africa, with a strong focus on mining, construction, heavy equipment machinery, and tractor parts.
Core Responsibilities
Actively identify, prospect, and develop new clients within the mining and construction sectors
Target:
Mining companies
Construction companies
Contractors
Heavy equipment and machinery users
Parts buyers and fleet operators
Conduct outbound sales activities, including:
Phone calls
Emails
Follow-ups
Relationship-building communications
Perform in-person client visits to mines, construction sites, and industrial facilities when opportunities are commercially mature
Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline, starting with smaller transactions and growing into larger recurring orders
Serve as the local commercial representative for Intersupply, Corp. in the assigned territory
Coordinate closely with the Miami (USA) team to:
Request quotations
Deliver offers to clients
Follow up on quotations, invoices, and deal progression
Maintain regular follow-up with prospects until deals are closed
Develop long-term client relationships to generate repeat and ongoing business
Provide basic market feedback on:
Client needs
Competitor activity
Market opportunities
Important Role Clarifications
This is a sales-focused, results-driven role
This position does NOT include:
Purchasing or sourcing
Supplier negotiations
Handling client payments
Collections or banking
Logistics or shipping coordination
All transactions are cash in advance and managed by Intersupply, Corp. (Miami, FL.)
Performance Expectations
Initial sales may begin with smaller orders (USD 10,000–20,000)
Sales volume is expected to grow progressively over time
Performance is evaluated based on:
Activity level
Pipeline development
Sales growth
Client retention and follow-up discipline

Requirements:

  • Business Development: 3 to 4 years
  • B2b Sales: 2 to 3 years
  • Client Relationship Building: 1 to 2 years
  • Field Sales Representative: 1 to 2 years
  • MINING AND CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY SALES: 1 to 2 years
  • HEAVY EQUIPMENT / MACHINERY PARTS SALES: 1 to 2 years

Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Required Experience
Proven experience in B2B sales within one or more of the following sectors:
Mining
Construction
Heavy equipment
Machinery
Tractor parts or industrial parts
Demonstrated experience selling to:
Mining companies
Construction companies
Contractors
Industrial or fleet operators
Hands-on experience in field sales, client prospecting, and relationship development
Experience developing new business from scratch (hunter profile)
Sales & Commercial Skills
Strong ability to:
Prospect new clients
Open new accounts
Build and manage a sales pipeline
Follow up consistently until deals are closed
Comfortable working in a results-driven, commission-based sales environment
Ability to grow sales progressively (from smaller initial orders to larger recurring transactions)
Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
Communication Skills
Fluent English (spoken and written) – mandatory
Spanish is a strong advantage but not mandatory
Clear, professional communication with international clients and teams
Mobility & Work Style
Ability to access clients when required, either:
With own vehicle, or
Using hired or rented transportation
Willingness to visit mining sites, construction projects, and industrial facilities when opportunities are commercially mature
Strong remote sales capability (calls, emails, follow-ups)
Able to work independently with minimal supervision

Comfortable with a low fixed retainer and high commission structure

Additional Requirements
Based in South Africa (preferred)
Willing to travel within Southern Africa when required
Legally able to work as an independent contractor
