We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team specialising in the design and development of armoured and protected vehicles. The role involves working on mission-critical defence projects from concept through to production and in-service support.Key Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical systems and structures for armoured vehicles Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings Design and integrate armour solutions, chassis, suspension, and vehicle subsystems Perform mechanical calculations (strength, fatigue, vibration, weight optimisation) Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities Liaise with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams Ensure designs comply with defence standards, safety, and customer requirements Participate in design reviews and configuration controlRequirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Proven mechanical design experience in defence, automotive, or heavy engineering Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, Inventor) Strong understanding of structural design and manufacturing processes Ability to work with confidential and controlled information
