Lodge Management CoupleHartbeesfontein, North WestSalary Market related based on the experience Our client, a safari lodge / private game reserve based near Hartbeesfontein (North West), is looking for an experienced Lodge Manager or Couple

Minimum requirements:

• Qualification in Hotel Management Diploma/Certificate or equivalent
• At least 10 years’ of prior working experience in guest relations at a Lodge or similar 5-star Lodge/Hotel

Key Performance Areas of this position include:

• Responsible for the day to day running and efficient operation of the Lodge to ensure exceptional service is delivered to guests in all areas at the Lodge
• Support Lodge Staff to achieve their goals and objectives
• Implementing and monitoring policies, processes and standards to ensure an effective and exceptional service is provided to guests
• Stay up to date with changes in policies, ways of working and standards in the industry
• Perform all daily, weekly and monthly administrative duties relating to Lodge operations in line with company policies and procedures
• Identify and report all necessary maintenance required at the Lodge and ensure all issues are timeously resolved
• Provide on-the-job training for Lodge staff
• Take accountability for the performance of all the functions at the Lodge
• Provide superior levels of service to all guests at all times
• Oversee the 5-star Spa Manager and report to the Owner of the Lodge

Competencies required:

• High level of competency in spoken and written English
• Good working knowledge of GAAP, Opera and Ms Excel (Intermediate level)
• Sober habits
• Driver’s license
• High level of attention to detail
• High level of ability to solve problems independently
• High level of knowledge i.r.t Guest Relations, F&B, menu planning and presentation, costing, and wine knowledge, housekeeping and Front Office
• Maintenance management / overseer experience
• To be able to interact with a local as well as international clientele and hence needs to have a good general knowledge
• Have the capacity to mix freely and easily with people from all walks of life and have a presence to accommodate and invite this engagement
• To be flexible, accept change, opposing views, new ideas, to be imaginative and creative
• Be self-motivated, have the capacity to take decisions, to lead, to perform and to achieve
• Have the capacity to arrange the availability and allocation of required resources, utilise control systems, delegate and coordinate the tasks and duties of individuals and groups in a way that ascertains the smooth flow of work throughout the workplace
• Required experience & skills can be shared among applicants, in the event of Lodge Management Couple
