Role Overview
Our client, a well-established plastics injection moulding manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Senior Toolmaker to support mould manufacture, maintenance, and optimisation. This is a hands-on technical role critical to ensuring mould quality, uptime, and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture, repair, modify, and maintain injection moulds
- Diagnose mould faults and implement effective solutions
- Operate and program CNC and EDM machines
- Conduct mould trials and support production setup
- Design and fabricate jigs and fixtures
- Use precision measuring tools to ensure quality standards
- Maintain tooling records and support workflow planning
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and safety standards
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified Toolmaker (Trade Test)
- N2-N6 Mechanical or Engineering qualification
- Minimum 5 years' tooling experience in injection moulding
- Strong CAD/CAM experience (Edgecam, Mastercam, SolidWorks)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
