Qualified Automotive Mechanic

A leading franchise in the automotive industry is seeking a qualified and professional automotive mechanic to join their dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Performing routine servicing of light motor vehicles, SUVs, and 4x4s.
• Conducting general mechanical repairs.
• Inspecting and diagnosing vehicle faults and defects, and providing accurate reports.
• Conducting test drives to assess vehicle performance post-service.
• Maintaining responsibility for personal tools as well as workshop equipment.
• Ensuring all tools are cleaned and properly stored after use.
• Safely jacking up vehicles and adhering to safety protocols.
• Operating hoists and other lifting equipment.
• Utilizing hydraulic and power tools with care and in compliance with safety standards.
• Keeping the workshop clean and orderly before leaving each day.
• Ensuring that all tasks are performed in a safe and efficient manner, in line with company policies and safety procedures.

  Minimum Qualifications:

  • Automotive Mechanic Trade Test Certification – This is mandatory. Please ensure a copy of your certification is included with your application.

    Required Skills:

    • Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to accurately assess vehicle issues.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of automotive systems, tools, and procedures.
    • Thorough understanding of safety protocols within a workshop environment.
    • Effective problem-solving abilities and sound judgment in resolving mechanical issues.
    • Proficiency in selecting and handling the appropriate tools for various mechanical tasks.
    • Demonstrated troubleshooting expertise and attention to detail in detecting and addressing vehicle faults.
    • Ability to handle precision equipment and material-handling tools effectively.
    • Consistent adherence to company standards and procedures while performing duties.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally across all levels of the organization.

      Experience Required:

      • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience working as a vehicle mechanic.

        Other Requirements:

        • A valid driver’s license is essential.
